CESP condemns arson attacks on the Austrian police
As informed by our member VKO, in Austria, six cars of the Criminal Intelligence Service were set on fire in the night of 30.01.2022. Destruction of police property, arson or any form of violence against police officers is unacceptable and represents serious attack on the rule of law. In his address in the media, the President of VKÖ, Dieter Csefan, emphasized, “We can assure you that the work intensity of the affected department will in no way be reduced by this attack – on the contrary, all departments are investigating this criminal case and will also use all possibilities to convict the perpetrators. We, are convinced that the case can be resolved and the perpetrators can be brought to justice. You can destroy police vehicles, but not the high commitment of the criminal police”.
In order to obtain information as quickly as possible that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, the VKÖ has offered a prize of €1,000 (one thousand euros). Information can be sent to any police station.
CESP strongly condemns the violence against the police, which represents a serious crime and such actions and behavior shall not be tolerated. Anyone who attacks a police officer, destroys police property or performs any form of violent behavior shall face the law and bear serious legal consequences.
