CESP Executive Committee Meeting, Podgorica, Montenegro

In the period from 22-23 November 2024, in the city of Podgorica, Montenegro, CESP held its Executive Committee Meeting hosted and supported by the Montenegrin Police Union SUP, member of CESP. 

The ECM gathered CESP members from the 15 countries discussing key issues of the future of policing and pressing issues in the member countries. 

In the framework of the ECM, CESP organized the International Conference: “The New Security Landscape: Future of Policing” on which high-level authorities from Montenegro, Mr. Dragan Gorovic, Assistant Police Director and Mr. Nikola Terdzich, Head of the Internal Control of the Ministry of Interior, along with the 15 countries, members of CESP participated and shared the latest developments in the security area, with a special focus on the future of policing and their role in maintaining peace, upholding the rule of law and protecting human rights. 

The ECM was attended by CESP partners, the International Center Missing Exploited Children, represented by Ms. Zoé Colpaert, Regional Program Manager – Europe at the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), who presented “ICMEC’s work with Law Enforcement for a Safer World for Children”, the United Nations – Inter Regional Crime and Justice Research Institute – UNICRI, Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, represented by Maria Eira, Artificial Intelligence Expert at United Nations, Centre for AI and Robotics, who online presented the “AI for Safer Children training” and the Crafts Chamber NMK, represented by Ms. Jelena Spasova, the Executive Director of the Chamber who presented the “Educational program for prequalification of retired police officers”. 

During the ECM, CESP officially welcomed the Lithuanian Police Union/ Lietuvos policijos profesinė sąjunga (LPPS) as a full member. With this the Lithuanian Police becomes a proud member of the European Council of Police Trade Unions.
