Raising awareness on mental health of police officers

On 3–4 October 2025, Mr. Massimo Denarier, the newly elected President of the European Council of Police Unions (CESP), attended the National Assembly of the Romanian trade union Sindicatul EUROPOL in Bucharest, upon the invitation of the Union’s President, Mr. Cosmin Andreica.

The participants of the conference organized by the Romanian Police Union, emphasized that the police profession involves constant exposure to high-stress situations, physical dangers, and emotional challenges.

The importance of prevention strategies, timely interventions, and support systems for managing stress and occupational trauma were among the key points of the CESP President, Denarier, confirming CESP commitment in dealing with this issue faced by police officers across Europe.

The event reiterated the urgent need for solidarity, open dialogue, and dedicated resources, including new legislation, to better ensure the vital role of the police in society.
