CESP present at SAP’s Legality Week
The European Council of Police Union (CESP) continues to play a vital role not only within institutional frameworks but also among younger generations, fostering a culture of legality, civic responsibility, and trust in public institutions.
CESP is actively engaged in building strong connections with key stakeholders at all levels, while maintaining a close and meaningful presence among young people. A significant example of this commitment took place in Como, where CESP stood alongside SAP – the Italian Autonomous Police Union – in supporting a week-long initiative dedicated to the promotion of legality.
This important project, organised by SAP-Como with the local Secretary Igor ERBA, involved more than one thousand students, who participated in a wide range of educational and awareness-raising activities. The initiative concluded with a major event held at the city’s main theatre overlooking Lake Como, marking a moment of reflection and dialogue between institutions and the younger generation.
The closing event was attended by prominent institutional figures, including the Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, the Vice President of the Senate Licia Ronzulli, the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, and the Undersecretary of the Interior Nicola Molteni and also with General Secretary of SAP Stefano PAOLONI, President of LIBERA Don Luigi CIOTTI and at the and hundreds of mayors and community representatives from the Lombardy region, along with the heads of the Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, Penitentiary Police, and Local Police.
Through initiatives like this, CESP reaffirms its commitment to supporting education, strengthening institutional cooperation, and promoting the fundamental values of legality and public service across Europe and to confirm that we are recognized as a serious and primary interlocutor for everything concerning the safety of citizens and the promotion of legality issues.
