CESP President Meets with EESC Quaestor to Discuss Challenges Facing Police Officers in Europe
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) represents an important pillar of transparency and participatory democracy within the European Union’s decision-making process. As a tripartite body bringing together representatives of trade unions, employers and civil society organisations, the EESC plays a key role in ensuring that European policies are informed by the perspectives of organised society.
In this context, Massimo Denarier, President of the European Council of Police Unions (CESP), held a working meeting with Marin Florian, Quaestor of the EESC. The discussion focused on the main challenges faced by the more than 300,000 police officers represented by CESP across Europe, as well as possible policy approaches that could be promoted at the European level to strengthen support for law enforcement professionals.
CESP welcomed the openness and constructive dialogue demonstrated during the meeting and expressed its appreciation for the support and confidence shown in the organisation’s expertise in matters related to policing, public security and the professional protection of police officers across Europe.
